What we collect

Arete collects your account details, CV and career information, your projects and reasoning answers, feedback and any competition or Hiring Challenge entries. Membership, payment references, communications and usage data are described in the Privacy Policy.

The Arete workspace records each step of their work. Uploading an additional record of how you worked with an AI tool is always optional.

What a company receives

When you choose to share, the company receives your output and record for that project. It does not receive your other projects, CV or account details unless you choose to share them.

We never share your raw AI working records with companies, judges or co-hosts. At most, they receive a summary and short excerpts you have agreed to share.

Your choice to share

You choose what may be shared for each competition, Hiring Challenge or public portfolio page. For competitions, you can choose a summary, short excerpts of your own words, or both. A portfolio page is public only if you choose to publish it, and you can unpublish it at any time.

How long data is kept

Account, CV, reports, projects and portfolio

For as long as your account is active. After 24 months without signing in, we email you. If we hear nothing within 30 days, we delete the account.

Optional working records, including AI session logs

The full record is deleted 90 days after submission. Only the short excerpts you agreed to share and our summary remain, for as long as the related project or entry is on your account.

Competition and Hiring Challenge entries

For as long as your account is active. For the shared copy, until you withdraw consent if that is sooner.

Payment records

Six years from the end of the relevant financial year. Card details are held by our payment processor.

Usage analytics

Up to 12 months, then aggregated or deleted.

Emails to and from us

Up to 24 months.

When you delete your account, the associated data is removed from live systems. Processors may retain encrypted backups for a limited period under their own schedules. Payment records and a minimal deletion record may be retained where required.

Changing your sharing choice

You can withdraw consent from your settings or by emailing contact@aretecareer.com. We then stop sharing and remove your work from views we control.

Material already downloaded or sent to a third party may be outside our control. We will tell you where that is the case.

You can delete your account and associated data from your account settings. For other data-rights requests, contact us and we will respond within one month.

Company enquiries

The Hiring Challenge form asks for your name, work email, company and hiring goals, plus any optional details you provide. We use these details to handle your enquiry.
